Battles Of Being A Christian

I have been for almost 10 years and as awesome as that is like all Christians we as well have our battles with people and other issues. Mine is with my parents who think I should watch movies that are filled with lots sick minded stuff (we all know what that stuff most likely is) or watch CNN (constant negative news) Me and my mom got into an argument about this and she said "Will you won't know anything that's happening in this world if you don't watch My reply "Well why would I want to watch the news when its only stuff they want you to see and not what god wants you to" I asked my friends at church and they added "well most of the regular news channels the news anchors aren't Christians because if they were than they wouldn't be doing that job". Next thing, whenever a sporting event is on it has a negative effect on my parents marriage My, Dad well sit and watch the race or the game which he has the right to do but misses what's really important his family. These are just some of the things I see and we get in arguments over which I can not change I just keep praying.
What I did was if their was any news of importance or any sports scores that I'm interested in I just look it up online in 30 seconds But, otherwise I give it to god because he knows all.
